The Hemisphere Neuroscience Club at Shanghai Pinghe School is a student-led organization made up of high school students passionate about neuroscience and neurology. We participate in a wide range of initiatives across China. As the leader of the China Neuroscience Youth Association (CNYA), we organize the annual National High School Neuroscience Forum. In addition, we have launched projects that offer intervention guidance to parents of children with autism, arranged visits to the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (CEBSIT), and volunteered at clinics and hospitals to support the practical application of neuroscience knowledge.
Throughout each semester, we explore a range of foundational topics in neuroscience, including:
- Neurons and Glial Cells
- Action Potentials
- Neurotransmitters
- Sensory Systems (Vision, Hearing, Touch, Smell, Taste)
- Language Processing
- Memory Mechanisms
- Emotion and the Brain
- Sleep and Circadian Rhythms
- Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders
- Addiction and Reward Pathways
